My name is Cliff Ferree, I am 24 years old and currently live in Cheyenne, Wyoming but was born and raised in the small town of Thermopolis, Wyoming. I consider myself very lucky in many ways. I not only had a dad that took me hunting from before I could walk but I also grew up in a small town with tons of hunting opportunities. I killed my first ducks at age 10 and have since been fortunate enough to harvest many deer, antelope, elk, black bear, turkey and all types of Wyoming predators. I consider myself very lucky to live where I do. I can start archery hunting big game in August, gun waterfowl for 6 months and chase turkeys and bears through the middle of May. All of this can be done within an hour of my home. I was also lucky enough to travel to South Africa in 2004 and go on the hunt of a lifetime.

Although I did some waterfowling with my dad growing up, I became hooked about four years ago. In the time since, I have dedicated most of my time to learning everything I can about this sport. I believe Wyoming to be the most underrated waterfowling state in the country. I learned quickly that when you use the best equipment, you get the best results. That is what drew me to Zink Calls. I spend countless hours at the park listening to local birds and on the internet listening to sound files. Because I taught myself to call, this is how I like to practice. Ninety-five percent of the places I hunt are public ground and I pride myself on being able to have successful hunts day in and day out. I chase waterfowl countless days from early teal and goose season, to the snow goose conservation order. Although I love all waterfowling, my favorite shoots are decoying big Canadas over the water.

I feel it is very important to get as many youngsters introduced to waterfowling as possible. Therefore, I take a kid as often as I can. I have a four- year -old daughter named Bailey that is almost as addicted to waterfowling as I am. She is the only girl her age year that I know that can identify almost every species of local waterfowl. She loves spending the morning sitting in her power hunter and waiving a goose flag or in the duck blind blowing her wigeon whistle.

My other loves include archery hunting for deer, elk, antelope and turkeys. However, I always make sure I'm done by the October opener for ducks and geese. My love for hunting, calling, and photographing waterfowl has greatly influenced my life. I am a committee member for the local Ducks Unlimited chapter and do all I can for conservation. Although I love all hunting, it is waterfowling that is truly in my blood!!
