Michael Holman
Michael Holman, 21 years old, was born and raised in the central Texas town of Bryan. He recently purchased an outfitter in Northern Saskatchewan Canada where he guides waterfowl hunts three months of the year. He also works for a guide service in Bay City, Texas where guides goose and duck hunts. He is working on acquiring his captain's license so he will be able to guide fishing charters in the summer months. He began his duck hunting at the age of 10 on a small lake in East Texas owned by his grandparents. He began to learn everything he could about waterfowl and taught himself how to call from tapes and videos. A neighbor took Michael on his first dove hunt and from there introduced him to bow hunting and turkey hunting. Michael's favorite hunting is divided between turkey and waterfowl. Since the seasons are not the same, he can devote time to each sport.

Michael's love of waterfowl hunting led him to start his own guide service where he takes hunters to all parts of Texas. His favorite method of hunting waterfowl is in backwater and marshes because these give him an opportunity to work the birds in close. When hunting with Michael you can be sure that he has spent the time seeing that everything is perfect. His best hunting partner, Mallie, his four year old black lab, is always by his side. Hunting in Texas can pose quite a challenge to any hunter. Michael has learned how to hunt with frost in the morning and 80 degrees by noon. His calling ability gets tested to lure the birds in and keep them coming down. In Michael's spare time from guiding, you can find him chasing the birds from Oklahoma to the Texas coast or even into Louisiana. Michael's favorite region to hunt would have to in the northern prairies of Canada.

Michael has been calling since he was 10 and is starting to learn the ropes for competition calling. By working with Zink staff and with Michael's knowledge of Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana he hopes to introduce the Zink calls to the southern states. Michael can talk hunting with anyone who will listen and enjoys sharing his experiences with new hunters. You will find Michael anywhere along his hunting adventures sharing his enthusiasm for the sport and hopes to make the Zink call number one in the southern region.
