Ryan Polhman
Ryan, 21 was born and raised in the Southern Idaho town of Twin Falls. His favorite game to hunt are big Canada honkers and big corn fed mallards. Ryan's says "Its the thrill of waking up early, knowing what you saw there the night before, and just as the first flight comes out and working the birds into the decoys for some in your face action".
Ryan prefers hunting out of ground blinds; especially the roomy comfort of his Avery Finisher blind covered up in stubble and right in the thick of the action. Ryan uses ground blinds because they provide mobility and easy access to any part of the field.
Ryan has worked as a guide for Double Y Outfitters. Living in the west Ryan mainly hunts in the Pacific Flyway. He feels fortunate as the flyway brings a great number birds to the area and he is usually very successful! As a young kid growing up in a farming community he was introduced to hunting by his father. They would walk the brush-lines for pheasants or hit the corn fields for ducks.
Ryan's favorite earliest childhood memory is when he and a couple of friends were out shooting ducks and a single drake mallard locked up and came in to about 15 yards from Ryan's left side and he dropped him right there. When he went to pick the greenhead up there it was a round piece of metal about a half an inch long; the drake was BANDED!
Ryan is very dedicated and passionate in every aspect of hunting. He works extremely hard to achieve his goals in and out of the field and his knowledge and his potential help him stay on his game day after day.
