Zink Calls Field Staff
Capt. Cody Roesener
I am 25 years old and was raised in the farm and ranch land of Northern California in the heart of the Pacific Flyway. I now live and hunt in Corpus Christi, Texas which lies on the South Central Texas coast on the Gulf of Mexico. Growing up I would accompany my father on upland bird hunts for Pheasant and Quail on local rice farms as well as family friends property in North Eastern Montana. At age 11 I was finally licensed and I will never forget that first season hunting Pheasants. I have not stopped or slowed down since. I was introduced to waterfowl hunting in the California Refuge system by friends in high school and it quickly became a passion and way of life for me.
While still a senior in high school I enlisted in the US Navy and was off to boot camp six months after graduation. After my training I was stationed in Corpus Christi, since day one I have been enjoying the diverse wildlife populations that call South Texas home. For me my season starts with the Dove opener and early Teal season and ends when the conservation season closes for Snows.
Being honorably discharged from active duty in 2008 I co-founded "The Producers" Professional Guide Services and began guiding waterfowl hunts during the 2008-2009 season in the bays and marshes that make up the waters of the Corpus Christi Bay and Laguna Madre. My preferred method in these waters is using natural cover on small forage islands this works well early in the season as well as later when the birds are "blind shy". My go to calls are the Zink XR-2, PH-2 and PH-2 Double Magnum. Not being married I devote most of my time away from school to hunting, fishing, working on my calling or working with my Labrador Retriever Tripp.
While in the Navy I earned an Associates degree in Electrical and Mechanical Technology and I am working on my Bachelors in Environmental Science-Coastal and Marine Resources at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christ. I am heavily involved with Ducks Unlimited and I am currently the President of Islander Ducks Unlimited one of the fastest growing college chapters in our state. Upon graduation I hope to put my degree to work with Texas Parks and Wildlife or Ducks Unlimited.
I am currently working to expand my outfitting business to its full potential for the coming hunting and fishing seasons. My greatest accomplishment in waterfowl hunting is the number of people I have introduced and gotten hooked on the sport, there is no feeling better. I consider it an honor to represent Zink Calls due to the fact that I truly believe in the superior quality and bird turning power of these calls.
