Zink Calls Field Staff
PJ White
PJ lives in Carson City, Nevada, where he attends elementary school. When not hunting,he is playing baseball and fishing. He plays little league as well as travel league ball with pitcher and first base being his favorite positions. He has made the all-star team every year he has been eligible.
PJ does most of his fishing in the local lakes streams and sloughs targeting large and smallmouth bass trout or anything willing to take his lure or fly. He would like to be a professional baseball player so he can work in the spring and summer and have the fall and winter off for hunting. He also thinks about being a firefighter like his dad who also has a great schedule for hunting. He started going hunting with his dad in 2005 helping put out decoys and being a watchful eye for ducks and geese. He shot his first ducks and geese and started calling from the blind in 2006.
PJ hunts mostly waterfowl but also hunts quail and chuckar. All of his hunting has been in northern Nevada but would like to try hunting Washington and some day make a trip to Canada and hunt with the Z-Unit guys. PJ hunts every weekend of the season and any days off of school especially Christmas break. He also gets numerous trips after school getting in a hour or so hunting close to home. PJ's favorite type of hunting is field hunting for honkers using his Power Hunter and Money Maker.
Watching the birds work and hearing the buzz of the wings is the best part of the hunt."
PJ would like to do more hunting with his baseball buddies who also hunt with their dads. He would like to see more young people get into hunting. In September 2008, PJ entered his first calling competition, the High Desert Classic in Reno, Nevada. He took first in the junior duck using a PH-1 open water and second in the junior goose using a money maker. He also competed against the adults placing fourth in the open goose and third in the team goose and plans to enter more competitions in the future.
PJ gives a special thanks to Chad Belding for his coaching prior to the competition. PJ is very proud to be a representative for Zink Calls.
