Greg Boyd
My name is Greg Boyd and I'm 38 years old. I was born and raised in North Central Ohio, which is where I currently reside with my wife, two children, and our Lab Grizz. The area I live in is home to one of the state's largest wildlife areas, which holds very good numbers of ducks and geese. From September 1st through the end of February, I spend every available moment chasing waterfowl. The rest of the year is spent in preparation for waterfowl season, which could be anything from improving gear, dog training or practicing with calls. My preferred method of hunting is in the harvested grain fields, which is followed closely by hunting wetlands and small ponds. There is just something special about having birds landed just mere feet from your blind. I love seeing the look on the face of someone who is experiencing this for the first time.

I began my passion of hunting and the outdoors at the age of eight. My father introduced me to the sport, which has very deep roots in our family. At a young age, I was intrigued with all types of hunting, but it wasn't until that I hunted waterfowl that I became truly obsessed. This I owe to a couple of high school buddies that had already been bitten by the bug. I have now begun to pass this same tradition on to my own son, who harvested his first two geese, at the age of eight.

I am currently also on the Avery Pro Staff, and have found it to be a rewarding venture. I really enjoy working shows and meeting new friends, and being able to help fellow waterfowlers to achieve their goals. I am able to draw from 30 years of hunting experience to hopefully answer hunter's questions. This year I have also accepted a position as a guide for First Flight Outfitters, which will afford me the opportunity to meet even more friends in the field and share some great hunting together.

I have blown many different makes of calls over the years, but none as true sounding as Zink Calls. I tried the SR-1 the first year that it was introduced, and have blown Zinks exclusively since. As with all aspects of waterfowling, realism is what gets the job done, and with the increased pressure put on today's birds it has become more important than ever to be able to mimic their sounds exactly. Zink Calls allows the hunter to do just that and has been an integral part of my arsenal.
