Mark Brendemuehl
Mark Brendemuehl began hunting and fishing as a small child, trout fishing and small game hunting with his dad. His earliest memories in the outdoors are of his dad carrying him on this shoulders to the field and stream.
As Mark got older, upland birds, (grouse and pheasants) were hunted in earnest, along with Wisconsins' famed Whitetail deer, with both a gun and a bow. Mark began shooting and competing in 3D archery tournaments at that time as well.
Waterfowl in southwest Wisconsin was far from abundant so Mark didn't hunt waterfowl as much as anything else. One trip to the Horicon Marsh region and he was hooked forever. Geese flew by in the thousands, the roar of their wings deafening, and that was all it took.
Moving to Minnesota in the early 90's only fueled his waterfowling bug with its rich variety of ducks and geese, and abundant numbers.
Mark is a member of the Avery Pro-Staff and works as a flyway manager for them and is on their sporting dog committee. He loves working dogs and helping others with their dogs. Mark also does a lot of waterfowl photography. You will find him at the refuges when the season is closed taking photos of the swans and geese, or in the summer, the local lake working his Lab " Coot."
Mark's "real job" is a county correctional officer. He also teaches there and around the state in " Use of Force", spontaneous knife defense, chemical agents, defensive tactics and the FN303.
