I started hunting with my dad when I was six years old. I shot my first duck with him on Grass Lake part of the well known Chain O' Lakes. My first goose was taken the same year while hunting a cut hay field behind our house in Cary, IL. I have been hooked on the outdoors ever since that time. My brother and I hunted that piece of property for twelve years. Together, we had many memorable hunts there. My brother Tom shot his first white neck collared goose, and I got my first orange collared goose there. It got to be a well known place for shooting geese. There were hand full's of friends, and fellow hunters that had shot their first banded goose in the Cary field. A few years later my Dad introduced a friend, Rob Sprow to water fowling. Rob also shot his first goose with my dad and I. Rob, like me, was immediately drawn to the challenges and rewards of hunting geese. He started guiding and after a few years started his own company-Ultimate Water fowlers. I now have guided with Ultimate Water fowlers for six years, and enjoy hunting with customers each time I get out. Each March my dad and I plan a snow goose hunt in Nebraska. I cherish this time with my dad because I don't get to hunt with him much during the season.

Every year I get to be part of a charity hunt and fundraiser for cystic fibrosis. I am very proud to be involved in such an event. A good friend of mine Moral Tomasitie's daughter Olivia is diagnosed with CF. Being able to see her every year at the Liv's For a Cure fundraiser is a great feeling. It's also a time to be along side some of the greatest callers and hunters in the world.

In the off season I still love being outdoors. During the summer and fall I love playing softball, and traveling for softball tournaments. A group of friends and I love traveling to different ball parks around the country. Yankee stadium, Jacobs's field, The Ballpark in Arlington, and Wrigley field are some of the fields we have been to. In the spring of 08 we are going to Seattle. Being out on the water boating, golfing, or just hanging with friends is how I like to spend my weekends in the summer time.
