Ben Fujan
Eastern South Dakota is what some would call a waterfowl paradise in the fall. Ben was fortunate to grow up in the famed "Prairie Pothole Region" of SD. Some of his fondest memories include sitting in cattail sloughs and cornfields long before he was able to carry a gun. He also was fortunate in that his grandpa's duck club on the Platte River in eastern Nebraska was only 3 hours away. Waterfowling was forever burned in his heart long before he was able to shoot a gun.
Over the last 15 years, waterfowling has grown from a hobby, to a way of life. The hunting season starts September 1, and doesn't wrap up until the last snow goose has left the state sometime in April. Ben enjoys hunting SD and Nebraska primarily, but a trip to Canada is a necessity every fall. Other stops often include Arkansas, Missouri, and North Dakota. His favorite method of waterfowl hunting is hunting greenheads on the water; however honkers and snows are tied for a not too distant second.
When hunting season is out, Ben enjoys training his young yellow lab Titan, fishing, and contest calling. Ben's full-time job is a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit.
