Sean Knaus
[A.K.A. NAS]
Growing up in Loveland, in the heart of Colorado's famous goose rich Front Range, Sean was introduced to hunting by his father at a young age, but lacked the time or the fire for the sport during his younger years. With a schedule full of school and sports the opportunity to hunt was limited. It wasn't until his junior year of high school that the opportunity to pursue waterfowl presented itself to Sean, and he latched on and hasn't let go since. Sean remembers spending countless hours on weekends and before basketball games hunting Canada geese in a nearby family hay field.

After graduating high school Sean enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado, located in Greeley, 15 miles east of where he grew up. At the same time, his cousin Scott (a fellow Zink Staffer) was already settled down in Greeley, and under his cousin's guidance, Sean quickly began to lean what it meant to hunt geese the right way.

Now 23 years old, Sean has spent the last five years working his way through the hunting ranks, learning from two of the best in the business in Scott Gablehouse and Shane McCoy. While at the same time pursuing a double degree in Journalism (PR and Advertising) and Mass Community Studies from UNC, that he will complete in the spring of 2008. In the last 5 years the fire for hunting has been rapidly growing in Sean, and he now relentlessly pursues waterfowl, big game, and turkey's all across the country. Carrying the ideals, and expertise that are found in Zink staffers along the way.

Sean worked as a guide along the Front Range for four of the last five years, but now spends his winter days in the field alongside the other Zink staffers in the area. Always willing to listen to those he considers his mentors has benefited Sean in more ways than he ever thought possible, and under the guidance of other Zink Staffers, he was encouraged to step onto the calling stage in 2006.Winning the first contest he ever entered, [the 2006 Rocky Mountain Gold Novice Goose] ignited a passion for contest calling that has taken Sean across the country in search of his first Open Goose victory. In just two years, Sean's resume includes a win at the Gateway Outfitters Two-Man Goose, and 12 top-five finishes in Open and Two Man Contests, including four top-2 finishes in Open Contests in the last year.
