Paul MacKinnon
Paul MacKinnon was born and raised in Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province located on the east coast.

Paul began hunting, fishing and trapping with his father at a very young age. Whether fishing sea run brook trout, hunting rabbits or raccoons over beagles and hounds or helping with his fathers trap line he spent the majority of his life in the outdoors. Paul was bitten with the dog training bug early training his first coonhound "Boots" and later his first Chesapeake "Mac".

By the age of thirteen he was hunting ducks, geese and grouse with his father and it was cemented in him from that point forward... dogs and birds are what Paul thinks about 24-7!

Paul has owned chesapeakes for 23 years and operates Atlantic Flyway Gundogs. His kennel and breeding program strived to breed the best Chesapeake Bay Retrievers for the hardcore waterfowl/ Upland Hunters all across North America. Paul and his dogs have been featured in Retriever Journal and in nationally recognized gundog trainer and Chesapeake breeder Butch Goodwin's book "Retrievers from the Inside Out".

Paul is actively involved with Delta Waterfowl in PEI especially on the dinner committee and takes an active role in youth hunting. Paul operated a waterfowl group in his junior high school for two years and is actively involved mentoring youth and volunteering at PEI Youth Waterfowl Day which averages 130+ kids... one of the biggest in North America. Not bad for Canada's smallest province who has only 2300 waterfowl hunters. Both Paul's step sons hunt and enjoy the outdoors and time with the dogs.

Paul hunts everyday of PEI's waterfowl season and enjoys shooting black ducks more then anything. Being a successful black duck hunter and consistently outsmarting the wariest puddle duck is his favourite type of hunting. Also late season in PEI can be downright brutal weather wise which is even better and the waterfowl hunting becomes spectactular.

Paul is a business owner and loves to spend time with his girlfriend Stacey and the kids.
