Jared Shepard
Jared was born and raised in South West Michigan. Growing up in whitetail country, he began hunting deer with his dad at the age of 4, and took his first hunting trip at age 6 to hunt grouse and woodcock in the northern Lower Peninsula. Jared continued to pursue deer and small game with his father and friends until he was introduced to waterfowl hunting as a senior in high school. Not only did he enjoy shooting waterfowl, he had his first experience hunting with a retriever. Since that day, Jared has become an avid water fowler, focusing mainly on geese, but has enjoyed many duck hunts as well.

After moving to Western Nebraska in Mid 2007 with his Chesapeake Katie, Jared has made friends with a couple other die hard water fowlers. Together, they hunt whenever possible and hardly ever without their dogs. Having hunted from Michigan to Nebraska and many places in between, it's the companionship of both man and dog that fuel the desire to return to the fields and water day in and day out.

Jared recently began working full time for Duck Haven Outfitters in McGrew, NE. He considers himself extremely lucky to not only do something he loves, but also work with a good friend who shares the same passions he does. His new job offers him the opportunity to do a little hunting, but more importantly spend a lot of time on the river meeting new people and hunting his dog. Jared is very grateful for the opportunity to join the Zink "family" and looks forward to meeting and hunting with many new people as well as promote the Zink product and name throughout the west.
