Eric Stanke
Eric Stanke was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin on November 12, 1976. He lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he works as an outside technician for the local phone company, AT&T. Eric was raised just outside the Horicon Marsh. He shot his first geese there with his father when he was 12. With continued support and resources from his dad he carried on the love for the outdoors. Waterfowling has become his passion although he also enjoys the occasional whitetail hunt, but has been hooked on turkey hunting in the spring since the first gobbler met his maker years ago. Add on to that the newest addiction, predator hunting, and you have a true outdoorsman always up for a hunt.
With a work schedule in the fall tailored around goose and duck hunting in Wisconsin, his travels take him all over the U.S. From the spring snow hunts in Missouri, to North Dakota and Canada in the fall chasing snows, Canada geese and mallards. Missing a day in the field is rare for him. The most rewarding part of traveling is meeting new people and learning new things. Always willing to try something new keeps him a step a head of the competition.
Eric brings a ton of enthusiasm to the Zink Calls Pro-Staff as well as some experience in the field and on the contest stage. He has won the WI State Goose Calling Championship in 2005, as well as placing 2nd in 2004, and 3rd in 2006. Determination and practice will keep him coming back to try and win again. Eric is also on the Avery Pro-Staff, getting to travel and meet new people is the biggest reward for him, but he also enjoys working the shows with them and helping to try and reinvent the wheel, always brainstorming new ideas of change and improvement.
Eric is currently living in Green Bay with his wife Heather, and dog Maddy. Being able to hunt all season is aided by a very understanding better half. Summers are kept busy training Maddy for the upcoming season. Eric has also been involved with and is on the Avery Sporting Dog Specialists Team. This has been a real plus for him being able to use and test out all the new latest and greatest dog products available, as well as keep his lab on her toes.
Eric brings 18 years of experience from all ends of the spectrum, and he looks forward to helping pass on the addiction to other younger hunters and outdoorsman, as well as keep improving his own skills. He is going to help the Zink staff in any way he can, always carrying a professional attitude with him and the ability to help.
