Scott Turpen was born and raised in Tennessee most of that time in the town of Clarksville in northwest middle Tennessee. Scott's father introduced him to hunting at the age of 7. His first hunting experience was squirrel hunting, but the hunt that got him addicted to waterfowl hunting was an early season teal hunt that same year. Although he was too young to shoot, he was not too young to be hooked.

Scott has duck and goose hunted around northwest middle Tennessee for over 25 years with some of the best hunters in the area and learning from them. He feels that if someone thinks they know everything about waterfowl then they'll never improve their hunting. What keeps bringing Scott back each time is learning more about waterfowl, being with his Dad, friends and introducing someone to the excitement of flock of geese, feet dragging 20 yards out when the shot is called.

Scott Turpen is 33 years old and lives in Clarksville, Tennessee with his wife Donna of 9 years and their baby girl Sarah. Sarah already has her first call, a pink Power Hen. He is employed by the USDA's Farm Service Agency. During his spare time you can find him spending time with his family, looking for geese or working with his dog "Chief". You can also find him TALKING THE TALK about Zink calls whenever possible.

Scott also enjoys turkey and deer hunting as well as crappie and bass fishing on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. The last couple of years he has gone to South Dakota in the fall pheasant hunting. But his real passion is chasing ducks and geese and getting them close.

Scott is adamant about having the most realistic equipment like GHG decoys and it doesn't end with his choice of calls. That's why he has used Zink calls since Fred made the first run of SR-1's back in 2000. He still has that call and has added a few more Zink calls to his arsenal. In addition to being part of the Zink Pro Staff Scott is also on the Avery Pro Staff. Two companies in the industry that he feels provide the best equipment to waterfowl hunters.

Scott brings to Zink calls a confidence in the product that he hopes future customers see and an even a stronger desire to help people with their calling.
