Shane Hendershot, 36, of Zanesville Ohio, married to his wife of 14 years, Kathie, they have a daughter Shalene, 13 and a son Devon, 10. Shane has been an avid hunter and outdoorsman for many years. Shane began hunting squirrels and rabbits at the age of 7, which led him to deer hunting and taking his first deer at the age of 9. His love and passion for the woods and the sport has led him to many success stories and many more memories that will last a lifetime. Shane has harvested numerous deer, several of them being in the Pope and Young class, and five bucks that made Ohio Big Buck Club, with his largest scoring 169 6/8".

His family all have a love for hunting too, with his daughter taking her first deer at the age of 9. Shalene has taken 3 bucks in 4 years of hunting, her biggest being a 13- point buck scoring 157". The Hendershot's are big fans of turkey hunting as well. Shane began to turkey hunt in 1994 and has taken turkey with shotgun, muzzleloader and bow. Shane's son Devon, at the age of 10, took his first bird in 2008, weighing 21 lbs., and having a 10-¼ inch beard. Shane's love for turkey hunting and the sounds of wild turkeys inspired him to compete in turkey calling contests in 1999.

Shane entered his first calling contest and won 1st place in the hunters division. That was all it took for him to be hooked and he has been competing ever since. He has been the Ohio State Champion for three consecutive years 2006-2008. Shane competed at the National level for his first time in 2006, earning a spot in the top 12 out of 52 contestants. Shane was fortunate enough to be named the Grand National Turkey Calling Champion of 2007.

This is one of the greatest accomplishments that a caller could experience. Shane joined Zink Calls in 2007 and is excited to be a part of the Zink Team.
