A New Beginning

Last August, Zink Calls celebrated their Grand Opening at their new location in Port Clinton, Ohio. This state-of-the-art 10,000 square foot building houses Zink's showroom and offices, as well as the company's manufacturing and warehousing facilities.

"Our pride and joy," said company owner and founder, Fred Zink, "is our showroom. Here, we're finally able to spotlight all of the products - calls, DVDs, soft goods, and more - that we have created and have introduced to the sporting public." Also exhibited in the new showroom are the full line of waterfowling products and decoys from Avery Outdoors and Greenhead Gear.

Whether you're a competitive caller or simply a waterfowler who lives and breathes the sport 24/7, you're certain to appreciate the 'fowling memorabilia housed in the new facility. Awards earned by calling greats such as Zink, and company videographer and spokesman, Field Hudnall, are displayed, along with some of the very first calls that Zink ever crafted. From waterfowl mounts to behind-the-scenes photography, the new showroom is more 'fowling museum that it is anything else.

Next door to the showroom, the manufacturing complex houses the company's new CNC lathe and milling machines. "There are a lot of advantages to having everything right here; technically speaking under one roof," said Zink. "The proximity of office to showroom to plant floor saves us time and money, and we can pass those savings along to our clientele. Quality Control has been made simpler, and as such, it's become more efficient."

Technology in the form of a CNC Lazer Engraving Machine has been a welcome addition to the Zink Plan. "The addition of this piece," said Zink, "has allowed us to serve our clientele in a more timely manner, as well as to personalize calls for those who might wish something like this. Names, hunt clubs, businesses - it can all now be put on a call, depending upon what a customer wants."
