High Points Championby Clay Hudnall, Pro Staff Manager
One stand-out representative of the Zink Z-Unit Team this season is Rusty Hallock. Currently the Pro-Staff High Points Champion, Hallock, who has served as the team's High Points Champion the past two years running, lives in Centerville, Maryland. "The High Points Program," said company owner and founder, Fred Zink, "is our way of recognizing the efforts of each and every one of our pro-staffers. A little friendly competition? Most definitely, but programs such as this also help maintain and grow enthusiasm, not only for our company, but for the whole of the outdoors." The High Points Program allows pro-staffers the chance to compete amongst themselves throughout the year by earning "points." Points can be earned in a number of ways, including presenting seminars, working sportsmen's shows, winning calling contest, submitting stories to Zink Calls website, and others. High man at the end of the year not only wins bragging rights, but is presented the High Points Travelling Trophy with their name engraved alongside past year's winners. A lazer-etched duck and goose call set, and incredible three-day Canada waterfowling trip round out the winner's take.
Hallock received his trophy and call set in his home state of Maryland on December 2007 at A & A Sporting Goods on the Eastern Shore. The awards were presented by fellow staffer, Mark Hoke, Avery Outdoors Territory Manager, Wayne Radcliffe, and Zink Calls employees Field Hudnall and Jimmy Wren. Following the presentation, the crew meet with Greg Edwards of Hambleton Creek Outfitters, and enjoyed two unbelievable days of goose hunting, the results of which can be seen on the new Zink DVD, 24/7 Goose Camp. This year, the race is on again for High Points Champion, and it has yet to be seen if Hallock is up for a repeat performance. We'll have to wait and see - |
